Bone
Clamps/Distractors
Vilex has
engineered both the one- and two-dimensional distractor.
These devices enable the surgeon to hold two bone fragments
under compression for fixation, or to seperate (distract)
the two bone fragments a specific distance for bone
graft.
The two-dimensional version allows
movement of one fragment with respect to the other in
both vertical and horizontal direction.
Vilex now offers a Small Bone Clamp
Distractor which is compact, lightweight, and great for
use in forefoot, hand, and wrist surgery. The larger unit
is intended for use with larger bones, specifically the
real foot, tibia, arms, and mandible.

Additional
Information:
Drill two holes, 1.6mm in diameter at opposite sides of
fracture. Insert desired clamp-distractor and adjust the
spacing using the proper knob.
The small, one-dimensional
unit has a range in the horizontal direction of 14mm.
The mediuml, two-dimensional unit has a range of 17mm
in the X direction and 20mm range in the Y direction (from
-10mm to + 10mm)
The large, two dimensional unit has a range of 40mm in
the X direction (from 20mm to 61mm) and 32mm in the Y
direction (from -17mm to +15mm)

Bone Estimator
This unique surgical
device enables the surgeon to clamp and simultaneously
estimate the bone diameter or the length
of a bone necessary to fix a fracture or osteotomy.
Insert a K-wire from one cortex
to another making sure the wire protrudes from both
ends. Place the estimator tips on the wire, then clamp
and lock.
Read the length in millimeters directly.
Some minor adjustments for soft tissue may be necessary
depending on circumstances.
If you need a bone estimator to
make your next surgical procedure more accurate, please
call Vilex at 1-800-872-4911.
