The FibuNail™ Intramedullary Nail System was designed as an alternative to traditional ORIF methods for treating ankle fractures. The FibuNail™ system is designed to minimize incision size and soft tissue dissection on the lateral malleolus.

Fibunail Design Rationale

SYSTEM FEATURES AND KEY BENEFITS

FibuNail™ implants are manufactured from Ti6Al4V titanium alloy for enhanced strength and biocompatibility
Accepts two (2) 3.5mm Syndesmotic Screws and four (4) 2.7mm multiplanar cross screws: (2) AP and (1) LM
Fibuanail offers and additional oblique AP inter-fragmentary screw designed to enable compression at the level of many Weber B fractures
Color coded, side specific implants in 105mm, 140mm, and 170mm to fit a variety of patient anatomies

A Minimally Invasive Alternative to Traditional ORIF

STREAMLINED TECHNIQUE & PRECISE TARGETING

In contrast to traditional ORIF of the ankle, Fibunail is inserted in the distal fibula through a minimal stab incision.

Once the nail is implanted, screws are inserted through a precision targeting device by making stab incisions to protect the soft tissue envelope and preserve vascularity of the periosteum.

The Fibunail features a radiolucent targeting guide which aids in the anatomic placement of both A/P and M/L screws and allows for syndesmotic screw fixation, all through minimally invasive stab incisions.
